Sri Sinivasa Kalyanotsavam was celebrated in a grand manner by the priests from Tirumala Tirupati Devastanams led by Sriman Sundara Prahlada Acharya and Sriman Venkata Sarath Kumar Acharya in Manchester on Staurday, 11th May. The program started at 7 AM with Suprabhata Seva which signifies the ritual of waking up the Lord from his Celestial sleep, with the hymn – Kausalya Supraja Rama. This was followed by Tomala Seva when the deities were exquisitely decorated with floral and tulasi garlands. This was followed by Tulasi Sahasra archana when the Lord’s one thousand names were chanted. While the deities were being decorated, the devotees were served sumptuous breakfast. Later at 10 AM, Srivari Kalyanotsavam was performed to the utsava murti of the Lord Sri Srinivas and his consorts Sridevi and Bhudevi. Sri Kamisetty Srinivas provided a beautiful commentary of the Lord’s Kalyanotsavam. Nearly 300 devotees from all over the northwest of UK participated in the event conducted at Davenport Green Hall, Hale barns. Special guests included Mayoress of Stockport Mrs Wendy Meikle, the family of District Judge Mr. Iyer, ex Mayor Councillor Afjal Khan. On behalf of Save Vedic Heritage trust and Sri Rama Bhakta Tarangini, Sriman Vemuri family thanked the devotees for the success of the event and conveyed the Mangalasasanams of the Lord. Later the devotees were served with delicious feast prepared by ISKCON, Manchester. Deputy Executive Officer TTD Smt Baby Sarojini and Vigilance Office Sri Viswanadh released a booklet explaining the importance of the Celestial wedding of the Lord Sri Sinivasa.
